Flood 2010 Pakistan

14 million lives destroyed by floods in Pakistan

More than 12 million people over 51,000 square miles have been hit by the disastrous flooding in Pakistan, relief agencies said yesterday.
Nadim Ahmed, of the National Disaster Management Authority, also revealed 650,000 homes have been destroyed since the monsoon struck last week - with 1,500 lives lost.

The US has committed $35 million thus far to battle the worst Pakistan floods in 80 years. Meanwhile, a militant group has some 3,000 volunteers working around the country.
People affected by flooding receive relief supplies in Nowshera, northwest Pakistan, Friday, Aug. 6. Stormy weather grounded helicopters carrying emergency supplies to Pakistan's flood-ravaged northwest Friday as the worst monsoon rains in decades brought more destruction to a nation already reeling from Islamist violence.

Flood devastates 10 villages in Khairpur

IMAM DHERI, Pakistan  - This village in Pakistan's troubled Swat Valley suffered through years of Taliban rule and months of battles between Islamist militants and the army. But for a man who has seen it all, that's nothing compared to the last three days of flooding.

Hunza Lake is seeping out and water spill out smoothly on Saturday.  The lake is formed by landslide in North Pakistan in Jan 2010. The next 48 hours is extremely critical and authorities are being afraid of catastrophic flooding. If the dam burst, intense flooding could wipe away many villages, bridges, and roads as well. This flood could effects the 50,000 people. Water spill out is extremely imperative to avoid possible flood.
